Much to my surprise recently the "Sy Fy" channel is commissioning a new Sci fi show. This one is called Alphas and seems to be a bit of a cross between Heroes, the Fantastic four and a Police show. It might not sound surprising that a channel called Sy Fy has a new Sci Fi show but they have made a habit of cancelling a lot of their Sci fi Content recently and filling the timing with other shows, repeats and Wrestling.

They have plenty of repeats but cancelled Stargate Universe leaving a big cliff hanger when the series just seemed to be growing and finding its feet. I for one hope this show is really good as I really don't want the Sy Fy channel to completely follow the MTV route and not have any programming around the stations name. I do think “Sy Fy” is a stupid name though and can't see any reason for changing from the Sci Fi Channel. Anyway here is a trailer for Alphas which starts in the US in July.
