There have been a number of TV shows i watch which have finished recently, either completely finished or just the end of the series but i am hoping to post a review of each of them in the next few weeks. I recently wrote about the end of
Ashes to Ashes but i am going to first concentrate on 24. Other series will include Lost, Stargate Universe and Dr Who. Please note these will include spoilers if you have not watched them.
So 24, the
TV series, has ended but it has been left wide open for the
film to carry on the story. I am a little ambivalent over the ending. I am glad they didn't give a big game changing finale as that would have broken with the whole 24 ethos. The end of the show did seem to fizzle out though with the president coming to jack's aid and having a change of heart at the last minute.
I have high hopes for the movie which apparently will be set in Europe and will be 24 hours represented in a 2 hour film. This means they can fly from place to place as it wont have to have 2 hours of Jack on a plane asking a stewardess for another coke.
24 has had some fantastic moments and some ropey moments but has echoed some real life events. Originally put back a few months because of the terrorism on a plane being a bit close to home after September 11th 2001.
As a whole I will miss 24, I am tempted to watch them all back in the future if i just have enough time
