Wimbledon, queuing, the weather and enevitable failure

Well this is a rarity, i don't talk about Tennis much, it isn't a sport i have anything more than a passing interest in but its Wimbledon soon and i thought i should get in on the act as I'm sure everyone else will do.

Wimbledon give the BBC the chance to combine talking about two very British things, queuing and the weather. No where else would people standing in a line to try and get tickets for a tennis match be reported on as much as it is for Wimbledon. As for the weather, Wimbledon has a closing roof now so at least there shouldn't be a repeat of the "Cliff Incident" Talking about the weather (preferably in a queue) is about as stereotypically British as you can get, thrown in a cup of tea and cucumber sandwiches and you hit the nail on the head.

A Queue for Wimbledon

Of course the other talking point is going to be will Britain's Andy Murray sweep all before him to take the Wimbledon title or will Scotland's Andy Murray (see what i did there?) fail in the third round against some unknown qualifier from that tennis powerhouse nation of Belize (do they play tennis in Belize?).

I am sure the press and fans will build it up as being Murray's year just as they did every year for Henman or Rusedski. Never the less i will be astonished if Murray wins Wimbledon this year unless Federer and Nadal go out for a really hot curry and end up with fa case of a "ring of fire" before he plays them.
