Well it has been an interesting week both in the Transfer window and also with the draws for European football groups. There was somewhat of a spat between Bolton and Arsenal yesterday after Arsenal offered the derisory figure of just £6m for Gary Cahill. It's no wonder Bolton felt insulted by the offer when he must be worth at least double that on a bad day.
Samir Nasri finally completed his protracted move to Manchester City this week and promptly had a dig at both the Arsenal fans and Manchester United. It seems they school them quickly in the art of petty small minded little digs at their rivals as soon as they arrive at Eastlands.
Another player likely to be plying his trade at The Etihad (United) Stadium this season is Carlos Tevez after claiming he wouldn't return to Manchester even on holiday has moved his family there. It's times like these when he should have just kept his trap shut instead of making himself look like the fool.
Tevez does seem to really like the sound of his own voice and speaks to the press more often than any other player over the last 2 years it seems and rarely seems to have something positive to say. Still a player of Tevez's quality still being in the league can only be a good thing and i can't wait to see how he plays week in and week out with Aguero.
QPR have new owners in Tony Fernandes and from what I have seen of him in Formula 1 he should be a good owner. They have already signed Joey Barton who should be a great signing for them and a couple more players should see them stay up comfortably. I have to say i find it strange Arsenal who are desperate for a quality midfielder who is out of nappies didn't offer him a contract. No disrespect to QPR but given the choice Barton would have gone to Arsenal.
Part two will follow shortly with a round up of the European Draws. Read Part 2 here: http://thenewhut.com/pg/news/view/football/this-week-in-football-part-2-european-draw-round-up
