Premier League Preview 2011-2012 - ARSENAL

A strange closed season for Arsenal so far with only Gervinho being brought in as a signing and Two of Arsenals key midfielders being linked with moves away. It looks as if Nasri will stay now and possibly leave on a free in 12 months time but rumours persist that Fabregas will be leaving.

I find it quite strange little has been made by most of the media relating to Barcelonas despicable actions tapping up Fabregas but then again Barcelona do seem to be the darlings of the media because they play nice footballArsene Wenger must be under inordinate pressure this season as another year without a trophy will surely be his last in charge. I rate Wenger as a manager, you'd be mad not to respect what he has accomplished but the same excuses year on year must grate on you if you were an Arsenal fan.

The one player I am hoping to see play lots of games is Jack Wilshere as he looks to be the Main man for England's midfield for the foreseeable future. Arsenal have a reasonably tough Champions league qualifier to negotiate before the end of August against Udinese. Really this shouldn't be a problem for them and I expect them to comfortably advance to the group stage.

Betting

You can get odds of 10/1 for Arsenal to be crowned champions in May of 2012 and I can't remember Arsenal being such good betting odds in recent seasons before a ball has been kickmed and that should speak volumes of how strong their title challenge is. You can get 10/1 on Robin Van Persie to be leading scorer next season and thats pretty good odds if you could guarantee him being fit all season.
