Here we go again for another week of Mystic Jarv's predictions
Saturday 25th September
Manchester City V Chelsea
For the first time this season Chelsea are going to have a bit of a tougher time in the league. For the first time they are playing a decent team where as apart from Stoke, all they have played so far are potential relegation candidates. This is the first real test this seosn for Carlo Ancelotti's men and they are going into the game on the back of a home loss to Newcastle in the carling cup.
The pressure is on massivly for Roberto Mancini, out of the Carling cup, their realistic only chance of winning anything this season, and already 7 points behind the current leaders who they play this week. A win is a must for City and they may just eak out three points if they can keep Chelsea at bay.
Mystic Jarv predicts Man City1 - 0Chelsea
Arsenal V West Bromwich Albion
It would be a brave man predicting West Brom getting anything at the Emirates this weekend. West Brom try and play good football and are better than they were last time they were relegated but this is not a game they will be targetting to get anything out of in their quest for survival. Next weekends game against Bolton for example will be much more important to their season. They will of course work hard and their best bet is to scrape a draw.
Mystic Jarv predicts Arsenal3 - 0WBA
Birmingham City V Wigan Athletic
Wigan are a poor side this season and the fact they aren't bottom say s how bad 2 other teams have been so far. I will be astounded if Wigan stay up this season. Birmingham lost last weekend against West Brom away and that will dissapoint them but as the saying goes form goes out the window in a derby. Birmingham will want to bounce back this week in a very winnable game.
Mystic Jarv predicts Birmingham2 - 0Wigan
Blackpool V Blackburn Rovers
Blackpool have been this season's surprise package so far but will need to keep picking up points or will very quickly be dragged into the enevitable relegation battle that they will be in by the end of the season. T^he longer they can stay out of it the better for them. Blackburn are hard to beat especially at home but this is in Blackpool so i think Blackpool may win this one.
Mystic Jarv predicts Blackpool1 - 0Blackburn
Fulham V Everton
Everton have once again strated really badly, had it not been for their terrible start last season would have had a good shot at the Champions league and this season has started really badly too. They picked up a good point against Man United a few weeks ago and should really have pushed on but have not as yet. Fulham have picked up some good points in tough games, at home V Man United and away at Blackburn which leaves them in seventh This is a tough game for Everton and not an easy one for Fulham. I think it will be a close game.
Mystic Jarv predicts Fulham
1 - 0Everton
Liverpool V Sunderland
Liverpool have started very poorly so far this season and need a win under their belt as they havn't won a game in the league in September yet and their solitary win came against Steaua Bucharest. Sunderland have faired only marginally better so far and like Liverpool have no league wins inSeptember.
Mystic Jarv predicts Liverpool1 - 0Sunderland
West Ham United V Tottenham Hotspur
A London derby between two teams who have faired wildly different in the early season. Spurs are fifth and West Ham are bottom with 1 point. This is a derby and West ham are at home and may justget something out of this game.
Mystic Jarv predicts West Ham1 - 1Tottenham
Sunday 26th September
Bolton Wanderers V Manchester United
Bolton are not just the lump it up and kick the oppo team any more, under Owen coyle they try and play more football. They still have a hard edge to their play but either way this is a tough game for them. United beat liverpool last week and regardless of how it happened, and they were by far the best team, beating Liverpool is a good result for Man United. As expected a convincing win in the Carling cup against Scunthorpe and United must have a fair bit of confidence, Rooney aside who still looks well off the pace.
Mystic Jarv predicts Bolton1 - 3Man Utd
Wolverhampton Wanderers V Aston Villa
Houllier's first league game in charge is a midlands derby and it will be an interesting test for Villa. It's not the biggest derby as far as their concerned but they still wont want to drop any points so they can stay in range of the top 4. Wolves have no points in September and that will be a concern as they may very soon be in the bottom three and will then have to really battle to stay up.
Mystic Jarv predicts Wolves1 - 2Aston Villa
Newcastle United V Stoke City
Newcastle have started very well and Ben Arfa has been a good signing so far, never mind what some pundits on Match of the day say he was being scouted by both Man United and Arsenal. The fact he has gone to Newcastle is a gerat thing for them. Newcastle have beaten both Everton and Chelsea away in the last 7 days which it doesn't get much better than that. Stoke are tough to beat at home but would like to have had a few more points at this stage i am sure.
Mystic Jarv predicts Newcastle2 - 1Stoke City
