So here we are again, Its been a few weeks since i posted these predictions and it's been a busy few weeks in the world of football. Man City have bought yet another striker to go with the 43 already on their books (yes i exagerate). For what its worth i think Dzeko will do well in the premiership but here wasn't really any need for the dig and to bring up again the Myth that everyone in Manchester supports City. I do find it funny how ofetn City need to bring up United in press conferences.
Liverpool have a new manager, Their problems in that the squad is a mid table average squad at best still remains and until some more players are signed then this wont change. Realistically Liverpool wont go down and neither Hodgson or Dalglish will have any control over players signed. That responsibility falls to Damien Comolli so i fail to see the point in sacking Hodgson now and not giving him til the end of the season at least.
Arsenal lost to Ipswich and drew to Leeds in the last week which is hardly stellar form but i don't believe either team was a full strength first 11. I have noted a few Arsenal fans being very annoyed at the Ipswich game and they would be yet more annoyed should Wenger throw away their best chance for a trophy in the last 6 years by playing a second string team. It may only be the Carling cup but its better than nothing.
Manchester United travel to White Hart lane this weekend in what is one of the toughest away games they have left this season (note, i said one of) A win here for United and it will be a massive boost to their title challenge, A Draw would be ok too and a win for spurs will make all of the current 5 challenging for the title smile as it brings everything closer together.
There are three derbies this weekend The "Second city" derby, the tyne/wear derby and the Merseyside derby. Fans of all three claim the biggest derby in the country and i can see all three games being close. Strangely this time around the only one to include any top half sides is the Tyne/Wear game. Sunderland will want to get some sort of revenge from the 5-1 mauling earlier this season.
Lots of transfer rumours this week. My favourite one is Benzema to go on loan at Villa. Ummmm really? Two players have already been shipped out of City on loan in Santa Cruz and Bridge and Adebayor and Wright phillips both look to be following them soon.
In a happyturn of events both Platini and Blatter were made to look silly this week then the Head of the Asian football federation squashed both their suggestions that the 2022 World cup should be moved to Winter and shared between the other gulf countries as Qatar is so small. Those too looking like idiots is always a good day for any football fan.
