In the last week Roberto Di Matteo has been sacked and replaced with Roy Hodgson. While i really rate Hodgson as a coach and think he was very harshly treated by Liverpool i think the sacking of Di Matteo is a poor choice. Di Matteo has suffered from a good start to the season which has made their recent form look all the worse. Had he spread those points evenly so far then he may still have been there as they are still outside the bottom 3. Compare West Brom with Blackpool who similarly play decent football but have been getting much more in the way of plaudits despite only being 2 points better off from the same games.

West Ham have been chosen as preferred bidders to take ove rthe Olympic Stadium after the 2012 games. You may have read that i supported this a few weeks back whenthey were originally due to make the decision. It is a shame that the original plans were not better designed to include retractable seating, something i believe West Ham offered to pay the extra for and were declined a long time ago.

It's the Manchester derby today which is a big game for both teams. City have to win to have any chance of the title and United need to win to keep their lead at the top of the division as Arsenal will surely win at home against Wolves. Worrying for United is the lack of both Rio Ferdinand and Johnny Evans leaving only Chris Smalling in the middle in only his 4th Permier league start for United and definitely the biggest game so far. If all the games go as i have predicted City will still be third but only 1 point ahead of both Spurs and Chelsea while having played a game more.
