The FA have announced that England will play Hungary in a friendly at Wembley on the 11th of August. I'd like to say this is an appallingly stupid idea. It's four weeks after the World cup finals where the England squad would have spent anything up to 2 months together playing games and training together. It's just three days before the new season kicks off and players are not likely to be fully match fit and/or jaded from the world cup so I don't possibly see what Capello can possibly gain from this game.

The real reason is so the FA can sell more tickets and earn yet more cash to pay off Wembley. I can see a whole raft of "Injured" Players when the squad is announced or players with knocks and I really don't blame them. I have wrote before about how I would change the International footballcalendar and this is just another example of really bad planning for International dates from FIFA. A month after their flag ship tournament and three weeks before qualifiers. I shake my head at thee FIFA.
