Another Pointless Friendly - England v Denmark

Its that time again to play Guess how many England regulars will pull out of the England squad for this pointless friendly. Thee has been a few already, apart from Captain Rio Ferdinand who is injured and Steven Gerrard, Ben Foster and Peter Crouch are all Injured and Gabriel Agbonlahor has pulled out due to personal reasons.

One thing that is worrying is the dearth of decent English keepers available to the England team now with David Stockdale who has only been playing because Mark Schrawzer has been at the Asian football championships. What i cannot understand is why Capello hasn't gone to see Paul Robinson and said look i made a mistake i would like you to come and play for England.

Paul Robinson has been much maligned but over the last season and a half has been playing really well and should be in the squad. I can understand why Robinson retired because Capello just picks who he wants to and not neccesarily the best player at the time.

Ashley Cole was voted England fans player of the year recently. Seems fair enough to me, He's a quality player and the rest of the team has been poor in an England Shirt so as much as i don't like Ashley Cole he is a quality player and this is fully deserved.

So anyway i probably wont be watching the England game unless there is nothing else on. The most interesting thing for me is to see Lindegaard play for Denmark. This friendly really ought to have been paired with the qualifier in June. It's absdolutely poinless playing now when some clubs are about to restart in the champion sleague and all but Manchesetr City have an extra game to fit in.

Again next season there is a single game just as the season starts against Holland, Why? Its a terrible time for a friendly match when most players are still just reaching full fitness. I have nothing against Competitive games but surely something can be done to increase the competitive games and reduce the friendlies. As well as better organise them. Perhaps as i have suggested before having a break in the winter when a lot of games get called off anyway and playing 4 games in 2 weeks and the rest of the games after the season.
