Well this is the final part of my look back at 2011 and this one focuses on TV. I doin't want to go over the usual stuff we watch in this post such as Dr Who, Top Gear, Merlin, Masterchef, QI, etc. I want to write about a few new TV shows from 2011.

Watched Top Gear USA. Entertaining enough, pretty much the UK show (even down to the challenges) with American presenters. They don't have the same chemistry May, Hammond and Clarkson have but its the first episode. All in all compared to other American versions of UK shows its pretty good. Its not the Real Top Gear but its a good first attempt.

With a lot of rumours abound that there would only be a short series or a handful of specials of Dr Who on TV in 2012. Steven Moffat has gone on record stating there wont be a shorter run for "Reasons that will become quite clear soon". You can bet 2013 will also have lots of episodes and specials to mark the 50th anniversary of the show. The near future looks quite rosy for Who fans everywhere.

I started writing this before the series ended but decided to wait till the first season had finished before posting my thoughts on the Game of Thrones TV series. It was announced yesterday that Game of Thrones had been nominated for 13 Emmy's. One of which, Peter Dinklage is a shoe in to win best supporting actor in a drama series. It will be a travesty if he doesn't win for his portrayal of Tyrion Lannister.…
